Our first trip in Bremen, Ohio

It was March 19, 2010 when I met Lawrence’s family for the first time. It only took us 2 airplanes from Narita Airport to Columbus, Ohio. It was an exhausting 15 hours flight and that was the longest trip I have experienced so far.

It was mixed emotions for me, I’m happy to meet Lawrence’s family and nervous how they would treat me during my stay. I usually feel scared in this kind of situation but because I love and care about my boyfriend I want to take the opportunity of knowing his other side. They say a person has 4 sides uniquely different from the other. These can be categorized as Alone, friends, family and work. Each of these sides, a person tends to be a different person. I met and love him being alone with him and seeing his workplace; this time I want to know what he’s like with his friends and family.

We arrived in Columbus airport and met his brother Tony and his wife Shannon with their cute son Ethan. I’m sure Lawrence missed his family because this is his first trip in 3 years.

I am not really excited to see the USA but I am excited to see Lawrence being happy to see his roots and relax from work even for a short time.

We arrived at Bremen an hour drive from Columbus and 95% of his family are there waiting for him.

They are more surprised when they saw Lawrence not alone but bringing along his girlfriend. They all hugged me and pretty sure they are happy for Lawrence because he is finally on the process of settling down. I feel lucky too meeting such a wonderful man like Lawrence.

I met his dad Larry, his mom Carole and sisters Cindy, Holly, Leann, Wendy, Darcee and brothers Brock, Greg and Tony. There are plenty of nieces and nephews too but the ones that I wont forget are Dalton and Hailey, Jessie and daughter Soffie, Brandon, Peyton and Hailey with her husband Jeff, Andrew and his sister and many more.

The night ended late and I never felt so tired in my life. I slept after the family all came home one after another and Lawrence was left hanging out with his sisters that remained. His parents slept early too because they are not really healthy. His dad Larry Seesholtz was a cancer survivor and his mom Carole underwent a lot of neck surgeries. But they were really nice and sweet.

I couldn’t sleep well in my first three days maybe due to the jetlag but I was able to cope and enjoy our remaining days in Bremen.

We visit friends and family, dine out, shop and went to movies frequently. We also played Pat-pat and went to Easton Mall for some clothes shopping.

All in all, everything went really fine and enjoying.

We headed back to Tokyo on the 27th of March.
